Overview

At The Aussie Seed Shed, we pride ourselves in providing high-quality products and services to the Australian community. If, for any reason, you are unsatisfied with your order, your first step is to contact us. We appreciate every order we receive, so we have a customer service team dedicated to ensuring our customers are happy with their purchase.

Change of Mind Returns

Please choose your products carefully! Due to the nature of gardening goods and biosecurity risks, we do not accept change of mind returns.

Returning Seed Packets

At The Aussie Seed Shed, our seed stocks are kept in sterile, temperature controlled areas with strict requirements. Some seed stock require unique storage space. Once your order leaves our warehouse, we can no longer guarantee these storage requirements are being met. If a seed packet is returned to us, it cannot be resold to another customer. Because of this, we do not accept returns on our seed stock or kits that include seed packets. However, if you believe your seed packets are damaged, faulty, incorrect or missing, please contact us so we can fix this for you.

Seed Germination Rates

Our seed stock germinate rates are tested regularly to ensure the viability of your seeds. Our tests meet the general Australian guidelines for germination testing. We declare the germination rates of all our seed stock. You will receive this information when you receive your package. At The Aussie Seed Shed, we adjust our seed quantities to compensate for the seed germination rates. This means that if you purchase seeds from us that have a 90% germination rate or less, we add additional seeds to your seed packet to compensate for any potential 'failed' seed germination. Each seed packet is labelled with the quantity of seeds before we account for this germination rate. If you count the seeds in your seed packet, and cross-reference this against the germination rate of your product, you will find that we have added extra seeds as a courtesy — you know, just in case!

In our experience, there are many different reasons why seeds may not germinate — the actual strike rate of the seed is just one of many! There are many different methods used to germinate seeds and each gardener is likely to have more success with one method over another. Remember, we provide detailed information on our product pages and on your seed packets about how best to germinate your seeds. Please ensure you follow these germination guidelines (or tips, as we call them) to guarantee your seeds germinate at a good and consistent rate. If you have followed our guidelines to the T and are still struggling to get your seeds to germinate, please contact us so we can help you get to the bottom of the issue.

Returning equipment and/or non-seed stock products

For our non-seed stock, we have a 30-day return policy. This means you have 30 days after receiving your item to contact us and request a return. The item must be in the same condition as you received it in, and completely unused. The item must also still have its original packaging and tags attached. You'll also have to remember your receipt or proof of purchase. Please note that unless the product is damaged, you will be required to pay to post the item back to us. If the item is damaged, we will cover the postage costs or we will simply replace the item for you (no return required!).

Still not happy?

Despite all this information, if you feel your order is incorrect, missing something, not what you ordered, not what you expected, or if you feel there are issues with your seeds that have not been addressed above, please contact us so our customer service team can resolve these issues.
