Mary Washington Asparagus is a high-yielding variety that produces tender long green asparagus spears with a purple-tinged head. Mary Washington Asparagus are easy to grow with a little patience and will keep producing for years to come when cared for. Mary Washington Asparagus prefers a sandy soil and can be planted in full sun or partial shade. Each year Mary Washington Asparagus will die back and become dormant in the winter but reappear in the spring.

Asparagus officinalis | 8 seeds per packet

Sow seeds directly into your garden bed approximately 10mm deep, leaving 20 to 40cm between seeds. Leave approximately 100cm between rows. Germination occurs within 20 to 35 days, at an ideal temperature of 15 to 30°C. Sow in early spring after the last frost*. Mary Washington Asparagus reach full maturity after approximately 3 years, but can produce for up to 20 years.
