Sow seeds directly into your garden bed approximately 20 to 30mm deep, leaving around 100cm between Butternut Pumpkin seeds. Alternatively, you can raise seedlings in a protected area (in a greenhouse or indoors) and plant out after about 3 to 4 weeks making sure the last frost has passed. Keep soil moist (but not soggy!). Best sown in spring, but the sowing season will depend on your climate*. Ideally, sow seeds when the temperature is between 21 to 32°C. Germination occurs within 5 to 14 days. Butternut Pumpkins reach full maturity within approximately 100 to 130 days.
