Allium cepa | 50 seeds per packet
Sow seeds direct or raise seedlings in a protected area (in a greenhouse or indoors). Sow seeds approximately 5 to 6mm deep. Keep soil moist. If raising seedlings, transplant out when seedlings are around 6 to 10cm tall. Start seeds in spring to allow sufficient plant grow before bulb formation being when days are longest in summer. Germination occurs within 10 to 14 days, at an ideal temperature of 20 to 25°C. Leave 30cm between transplanted seedlings or sown seeds, and approximately 50cm between rows of Amposta Purple Onion. Amposta Purple Onion reaches full maturity after around 115 days.
*Sowing times may vary depending on your climate. See our planting guide for Amposta Purple Onion below.
